Uniquely You.
“Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.”
Everyone always says “be yourself,” but what does that really mean?
As leaders, we are often taught to emulate, assimilate, and conform. We need to fit in and act like successful leaders around us to achieve our goals.
This is where your unique identity comes in. Your unique identity is like your fingerprint, and what makes you uniquely you.
These are your inherent traits, qualities, experiences, and perspectives that make you distinct as an individual. They are inherent to you and cannot be fabricated or changed which is why we can immediately tell when someone is being inauthentic, and why “real” people stand out from the crowd.
How can you get started?
Get Clear on Your Why: Getting clear on your “why” is the first step to creating your unique identity. This takes time and commitment and evolves over time based on your experiences.
Define Your Leadership Values & Goals: Reflect on your core values and principles that guide your leadership approach and shape you
Embrace Authenticity: Be true to yourself and showcase your unique strengths, skills, and experiences that set you apart from others in your industry or field
Share Your Leadership Style: Embrace articulating and demonstrating your leadership style with others, especially your team
Adapt to Changes & Embrace Curiosity: Stay agile and adapt to changes in the industry, technology, and market trends to remain relevant and continue to evolve your personal brand to amplify your unique identity
In time I have learned that our “superpower” is only unlocked when we fully own and step into who we are, and what makes us unique. Once we all show up authentically as ourselves we can build diverse, dynamic, thriving teams who can achieve the impossible.
I hope that more leaders will lean into what makes them unique so we can all show up as our authentic selves and unlock the next level of leadership and team excellence.

Call me crazy…
Just as being ourselves allows us to amplify our superpowers, we need to surround ourselves with people who want to see others succeed.
When we are surrounded by people who prefer to “compete” or bring others down to lift themselves up, it ultimately holds us back and limits us.
Root for your team, and surround yourself with people who inspire and challenge you.
Let’s make this journey a fun one.
